4 European-Chic Street Style Trends I’m Trying Immediately
These styles deserve a spot in your wardrobe, too.

Friends! What a week. In case you missed it, we launched our Mogul issue. As I mentioned, I spoke with podcaster and Unwell founder Alex Cooper for the cover. The energy was palpable. Me volleying questions, Cooper answering back like a non-stop game of pickleball. I found it exhilarating! One moment from the conversation really stuck with me. “I understand a calm, loving, more quiet woman is easier to digest,” Cooper told me, “but I want future generations to easily be able to acknowledge and lift up other women that are going for it and are going toe-to-toe in moments with the men and are making conversations. That's all I want to do is create conversations.” Give the rest of the interview a read and let me know what you think.
Elsewhere in our Mogul issue, we speak with Golloria George, whose “Darkest Shade” TikTok videos have undoubtedly come across your screen. There’s a reason beauty founders like Hailey Bieber have reached out to George when they need some help. There are also stories that look into the invisible factors that go into landing—and keeping—a high-powered gig. See: a new wave of image consultants who are helping women dress the part, plus 50 power picks that make entrepreneurs’ lives easier.
But enough about us. This week I want to get into what I’ve seen trending in fashion week street style across Paris, Milan, and Copenhagen, and how you can incorporate it in your life. These are four trends I’m loving.
SILLY LITTLE HATS
This isn’t your typical beanie. It’s something a bit extra, a bit…more. I love it. Lean into the silliness, the over-the-topness. We’ve got more important things to be serious about.
OVERSIZED BOMBER JACKETS
A direct trickle down from the Saint Laurent runway, this style of jacket is now everywhere. They’re easy to layer and not incredibly cumbersome.
BROWN AND RED
I’m calling it now (but if I’m wrong, pretend you never read this): The colors of this season’s street style will be brown (suede and faux fur, especially) and red (fashion folks love an accent color).
BURBERRY SCARVES
A hyper-specific item I have a strong feeling about. Whether it’s stolen from your grandpa, bought secondhand, or brand new, the classic is coming back.
Anatomy of an Outfit
Big week of yapping over here at Nikki HQ. I was a guest on the podcast Throwing Fits and spoke on two panels. My outfits had to support lots of running around, which explains why I wore Nili Lotan’s Shon pants twice in three days. If it works, it works, you know?
TUESDAY...
A classic Nikki look: crewneck sweater and jeans, plus an interesting coat. When in doubt, try out this refined but cool look.
WEDNESDAY...
I spent most of the day working from home (reading drafts of stories for our upcoming March issue), then had to quickly get dressed for a talk hosted by The New Garde’s Alyssa Vingan. This is the first of two times I wore a gray sweatshirt this week, jazzing it up with a bunch of jewelry and other ladylike accessories.
THURSDAY...
First I was recording a guest spot on the Throwing Fits podcast (look out for it in the upcoming weeks), then I spoke at an Athleta event with my friend and fellow podcaster Emily Abbate later that evening. I wanted an outfit that worked for both. The hero piece was an Athleta sweatshirt I’ve had for about two months and have worn probably twice a week since I’ve gotten it. Again, jewelry helped make the top feel intentionally styled.
