London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014: Erdem

Erdem Spring/Summer 2014 in review.

It's no secret that Erdem is known for their bold prints and bright color stories, but this season they decided to bring us in on something else. First, it was the simplicity of the black and white sheer fabrics which seemed very fresh for the designers. Then the melodies of the accompanying pianist and cellist brought a sense of tranquillity to their Spring 2014 collection. But in the end, it was their version of prints that created the physical form of the Erdem signature. Dangling ostrich feathers covered floor length skirts and stunning embroidery offered a feminine touch that exceptionally complimented the more manly white shirts. This juxtaposition of delicate and tough extended to the cursive writing and flower appliqué tops worn with futuristic, blacked out sunglasses. The ambience was a rare mix of cool and tender making it clear that Erdem had thought through every tiny detail, even down to the charcoal floors that perfectly popped the color of the garments. .
