Repeating Outfits: A Fashion Challenge

If Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, can wear the same dress twice in two weeks, what's stopping the rest of us?

Repeating Outfits

There's so much I love about the Duchess of Cambridge, but possibly my favorite thing (or at least one of the top three) is the way she repeats outfits. For an appearance with the Queen, she wore a blue coat that she'd previously donned two months earlier. In May, she chose the same pink Emilia Wickstead dress for two events only 11 days apart.

As a girl who cannot bear to sport the same outfit twice within the same month (sometimes longer), I'm truly in awe of Kate — even more so because she is photographed in everything, and always seems to be sending a subtle message through her clothes. While I certainly don't have to worry about royal protocol when it comes to what I wear, it's refreshing that a girl with access to any clothing she wants turns time and again to her favorites.

And why not? They're beloved for a reason. A few years ago, my mom gave me a great LBD that I prize because it transitions easily from office to evening. After wearing it with a blazer and gold shoes a couple of weeks ago, I wore it again this week with different shoes and a belt. Changing up my hair helps too!

As I try to stretch my clothing budget, repeating outfits is a great way to save money — and I'm always looking for a new challenge when it comes to my wardrobe.
