Singer Ally Brooke Shares Her "Cheap and Bougie" Beauty Routine
"This mask feels delicious."
You may know Ally Brooke as a former member of Fifth Harmony. But you should get to know her as a solo artist because Brooke has forged her own path, recently releasing a new single "500 Veces" with Messiah. The star joins us to talk skincare at home in the latest episode of Masked and Answered. She's masking with none other than the La Mer Lifting and Firming Mask ($75). Her initial reaction post-application: "This mask feels delicious. It automatically makes me feel like I'm at the spa because it feels so cooling on my skin."
Her morning routine involves two steps: Washing her face, followed by applying moisturizer. "I'm cheap and bougie," Brooke says laughing, while holding up Cetaphil Daily Cleanser ($14) and the La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream ($180). "I love Cetaphil, it gets to the point with cleaning my face. Then, I put on the La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream because it literally makes my skin feel amazing and gives me a glow."
She has combination skin and usually gets the most oily on her T-zone and nose area. Don't we all? Brooke gives credit to her mom for putting her onto skincare. "Shout-out to my mom, because she is the best," Brooke says. "When I was a young girl, she put on a skin program. I get my skin from my mama." The beauty lessons we learn from our moms, ah, we owe so much to them. Brooke goes on to share how her mom has gorgeous skin and is often mistaken for her sister. #MomGoals. When asked if she was a hair, makeup, or skin lover? Brooke can't choose one. "I love to express myself through my look, whether it's through fashion, my hair, or makeup. I just love, love, love glam."
When it comes to lip balm or lip gloss? Brooke's a gloss girl, all the way. She even co-created three of her own glosses with Milani Cosmetics. In her episode, she holds up Milani's Ludicrous Lights Lip Gloss in Pink-aroo ($6). "It's so pink and shiny, and it lasts literally all day," she says.
This shine, though!:
Brooke's post-mask reaction: "My skin feels so smooth, literally like a baby's bottom. I wish ya'll could come and touch it."
