Britney Spears and Sam Asghari were together between 2016 and 2023, so obviously the relationship was an incredibly significant one for the Circus singer.
Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me, is out now wherever you get your books, and contains many, many bombshell revelations. Praise for Asghari in the memoir, however, wasn't meant to be one of these shock inclusions: The global superstar simply handed in her final draft of the opus before their separation, meaning the narrative ends before it as well.
As such, Spears is full of praise for Asghari in the book. In excerpts published by Page Six, the star writes of the early days of their relationship, "I knew I wanted him in my life immediately. The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other."
She also writes, "I look up to him—his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how we can take care of each other.
"He’s such an inspiration and I’m grateful."
(Asghari works mainly as a personal trainer.)
Towards the end of the book, Spears says of Asghari, "I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink." By contrast, the star begins the book's introduction by recalling how she used to spend a lot of time outdoors as a child to get away from her parents' constant fighting, and referring to her father Jamie Spears as an "alcoholic."

In August, the first reports of an imminent Spears/Asghari divorce were published. Though it's unclear what really happened, TMZ claimed the separation followed a "nuclear argument that involves allegations of cheating."
Later, Asghari addressed the separation with the immortal words, "Sh*t happens." Meanwhile, Spears published an emotional Instagram post that spoke of her "pain" and "tears" over the split. The two were married for just 14 months.
Now if we want the full story behind the separation, Spears also wrote, "volume 2 coming after 1" in a now-deleted Instagram post from a few weeks ago, implying that there would be a sequel to The Woman in Me. This has not been verified by Spears' publisher.
