Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are an extremely sweet Hollywood couple (don't you dare come for them, 2016), but their first interaction wasn't quite the meet-cute you'd expect. Turns out Shepard was initially suspicious of Bell's happy vibes, so much so that he thought she might be in a cult.
"When I met her and her friends, I was suspicious of their unbridled happiness," Shepard recently revealed. "I thought, 'Something stinks here; they're in a cult.'"
Obviously, Shepard eventually realized that Bell simply loves life, because they're currently married with two highly adorable kids. That said, marriage isn't always easy and Shepard is willing to admit that therapy is routine for them.
"There were hurdles, things she didn't trust about me, things I didn't trust about her. I just kept going back to, 'This person has the thing I want, and I have to figure out how we can exist peacefully.' So we started [seeing a therapist together] right away," he said, while Bell added, "You do better in the gym with a trainer; you don't figure out how to cook without reading a recipe. Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about."
Amen.
