God bless the VMAs audience cam. Without its roaming eye keeping tabs on the crowd, we would have missed so many glorious candid glimpses of celebrities taking selfies, group hugs, and general schmoozing. Here's nine of the greatest from this year's VMAs.

1. Ariana Grande was attacked by confetti, and styled it out like a champ.

2. Kanye made everybody get up on their feet for Rihanna's first song (like why did they need persuading in the first place?)

3. The Final Five, last seen being adorable with Beyoncé up on stage, had a group hug with Kim Kardashian…

4. And gymnast Laurie Hernandez grabbed a selfie with Kanye.

5. Kim casually snapped during performances.

6. Naomi Campbell watched (and recorded) Rihanna's Video Vanguard speech like a proud parent.

7. Alicia Keys tapped Kanye on the shoulder to congratulate him post-speech.

8. And Ariana Grande was all of us during Beyoncé's performance. (That's her on the far right, FYI.)
