I first came across Henrietta Ludgate's work last year when I went to Estethica, the British eco trade show that takes place during London Fashion Week. At the time, I remember thinking: This is a STANDOUT collection. The dresses were minimalist-yet-not-boring, the clothing whimsical-yet-wearable. In short, I knew that I'd be seeing a lot more of Ludgate's designs in the future. And low and behold, I just viewed her SS12 collection and was floored!
I LOVE the retro jewel colors, the architectural shapes ... and those antler sunglasses definitely caught my attention!
Her commitment to sustainable fashion can be seen in the belts made of ecologically sourced plastic and the dresses, which are made of an eco-stretch silk satin. Anyway, below are my four favorite looks from the line. Enjoy!
