The name J. Crew has been synonymous with American fashion for almost three decades, but over the last few years, plenty of young new talents have emerged as the faces of New York's booming fashion industry. One of these skilled designers is Joseph Altuzarra — in the four years since he started his eponymous label, he has earned the reputation of having of the coolest, most coveted collections (and hardest show to score a ticket to!) each season. So, it's only natural that the two American fashion powerhouses combine forces, and Altuzarra designed a limited edition seven-piece collection for the retailer that will be released this week.
In classic patterns like gingham and nautical stripes, the pieces are much more subdued than Altuzarra's tropical Spring 2012 runway collection, but they're just as perfect for the summer months ahead. Plus, his "Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez" inspiration adds an element of the effortless French chic that we can't get enough of.
Designer collaborations of this caliber usually fly off the racks in the blink of an eye, so if you're hoping to grab a piece of Altuzarra's collection, it will be available for purchase at jcrew.com tomorrow—if you're buying online, don't forget to scoop up a J.Crew promo code—and at J.Crew's 5th Avenue store on April 23. Bonne chance!
