These pieces will fit into your fall wardrobe, too.

Friends! I’m going to cut straight to the chase as I’m on deadline for our August Entertainment Issue and we’ve got a lot of ground to cover. This week’s newsletter is all about chic skirts. I’ve officially hit the point in the season where I’m going to scream if I have to sweat through another pair of shorts or trousers. Enter: the three kinds of skirts I love to wear season after season. My styling tips are solidly summer-related, but skirts are so fab because they work throughout any season when you add tights or knee-high boots. Dare I say they’re the most versatile bottom one could buy? Okay, let’s get into it.

MINI SKIRTS:

I tend to reserve these for vacation, weekends, or days I don’t have to commute to the office. Balance proportions with a chunkier shoe and an oversized T-shirt or button-down top.

MIDI SKIRTS:

I find these to be the most versatile. I can wear them over the next few weeks with flat sandals, then in the fall and winter with knee-high boots. Styling can admittedly be a bit trickier, but again, it’s all about balancing proportions. Go with a tighter top to offset the volume on the bottom.

WHITE SKIRTS:

Nothing says summer like an easy, breezy white skirt. And as we head into August, now’s the perfect time to wear one. Since my style isn’t quite boho babe, I’ll go high-contrast using black, silver, and gold to lend a tougher edge.
