Watch the Men of Fox News Freak Out Over Female Breadwinners

Share

Last week, an on-air Fox News video, focusing on the increased percentage of female breadwinners in the home, went viral — once again revitalizing the last election's all-too familiar "War on Women." In the newscast, panelists described these new statistics — four out of 10 families now have females as the primary breadwinners — as being "troubling," the "disintegration of marriage," "something going terribly wrong in American society." That's just in the video's first 60 seconds.

Two of Fox News' female hosts, Greta Van Susteren and Megyn Kelly, recently responded to these comments made by their male contemporaries at the network. "Have these men lost their minds? (and these are my colleagues??!!" Van Susteran wrote on her blog on Friday. "Oh brother…maybe I need to have a little chat with them) (next thing they will have a segment to discuss eliminating women's right to vote?)." Additionally, watch Kelly as she fumed on air on Friday, questioning two of the panelist's contributors.

We at MC are extremely gratified for how Van Susteren and Kelly responded to those within their own network. If women don't stand up for our own voices, then who will? While this Fox News bit was — hopefully — an isolated incident, we are proud to know there are women on whom we can rely in addition to ourselves as we continue to tackle the "War on Women."
