Hi. My name is Amanda Hearst and I??m associate market editor at Marie Claire Magazine and I??m here to talk to you today about my personal style. My entry to the fashion world was pretty natural. I always love fashion and so I just wanted to figure out a way to enter the discussion from a different perspective, so that??s why I write about sustainable fashion and design. It basically has to do with clothing that??s recycled, upcycle using, you know, textiles or supporting communities say in Africa. For instance, a brand like Eden is a perfect example of a very fashion, upscale line. As you know, obviously Stella McCartney with [unknown] accessory organic. For me, it??s more important to add staple pieces to your wardrobe. I think I spend less money on the trendy items and more money on things that are gonna be in my closet forever. So one of the key trends I??m looking forward to investing in the fall is the equestrian look. It??s a look that never really goes out of style so I??m happy to see it come back into fashion brands like Ralph Lauren are prefect example of that look. I??m not sure if I have any style icons. I have lifestyle icons and that I guess speaks a little bit to the way someone doesn??t allow clothing to wear them, but they wear their clothing. So someone like Audrey Hepburn, I would consider her an icon or some sort but more so how she lived her life than what she wore. I travel a lot for work and for pleasure. It??s one of my passions. If I??m going somewhere warm, it??s really just bikini, a sarong, flip flops [unknown]. Cold weather is a little more difficult, but I usually wear boots on the plane so I don??t have to pack them in the bag then- and I??ll wear the heaviest sweater that I have as well so again it doesn??t take up space. My travel and wardrobe essential is a little black. I think every woman should invest in one. Mine is an [unknown] a black dress that doesn??t wrinkle when you travel and I think the reason why everyone should have one is because you can wear a black dress in so many different ways [unknown] blazers, different shoes. You can wear high boots, ankle boots, pumps and will always look different. My make up routine be it during the week or the weekend really doesn??t change. It??s very natural. I don??t wear much makeup at all and I don??t use any hair product, but I guess you could say I let my clothing speak more than my makeup.
