The 6 Best Carolina Herrera Perfumes Radiate "Grown and Sexy" Vibes
Allow me to introduce you to your new date night perfume.
As an older Gen Zer, my fragrance collection has mainly been made up of newer indie brands that have launched in the last 20 years (like The Maker and Ellis Brooklyn), but one luxury legacy brand has always piqued my interest: Carolina Herrera. When you hear the name, you likely think of crisp, polished separates and elegantly structured gowns that belong at galas, on red carpets, or encased in glass at a museum. As sophisticated as the fashion brand’s clothes are, its beauty offerings are not to be understated—especially its fragrances.
The brand’s perfumes (and their elaborate yet sleek bottles) have always struck me as mature and sensual—the kind of scents you spray on for a date night at the opera or while you stroll through your luxe Manhattan penthouse. In other words, the type of perfumes a mid-20-something like me would have to grow into. But while testing fragrances during beauty awards season, one sniff of Carolina Herrera Good Girl—an ambery floral with notes of jasmine and tuberose—convinced me that CH perfumes were too good to cast off into some distant future.
The elegant stiletto-heel bottle of Good Girl immediately appeals to the sensibilities of anyone who appreciates a bit of glamour. Though the brand has become known for that shape, Carolina Herrera fragrances started out on a much simpler note. Herrera made its foray into fragrance in 1988, about seven years after the fashion house launched. The brand’s first perfume, aptly named Carolina Herrera, was a warm floral fragrance with notes of jasmine, tuberose, and sandalwood, housed in a simple glass bottle—an ode to Herrera’s earliest childhood memories in Venezuela. Now, CH’s fragrance portfolio spans more than 30 fragrances across several collections, including Good Girl, 212, and the Confidential Collection.
A bit of my Carolina Herrera collection.
The Carolina Herrera fragrance arm also draws from the brand’s fashion codes, translating them into perfumes that feel like a natural extension of the stories being told through the clothing—like the 2025 Confidential Collection launch Cedar Chic, inspired by Herrera’s iconic crisp white button-down.
Good Girl was my gateway into the world of Carolina Herrera fragrances, but years and many sniffs later, I’ve become acquainted with a handful of the brand’s top sellers—and six emerged as the ultimate grown-and-sexy scents worth adding to any fragrance collection.

Best Amber Carolina Herrera Perfume
I’m not exaggerating when I say I gasped (in the best way) when I first smelled this perfume. My shock came from the fact that I’m not a huge fan of floral scents—the word jasmine almost made me disregard this perfume altogether. But thank goodness I didn’t because this warm, sensual floral concoction has become one of my favorite perfumes (and I own over 70 bottles). Despite the name, Jasmine Absolute is actually more of an amber scent, than a floral one. Jasmine and bitter almond are likely what you will first smell when you spray it, but what makes this fragrance remarkable is the smooth blend of caramelized toffee and roasted tonka bean that gives it a rich, slightly sweet finish.
Review: “I only wanted to wear this perfume after I smelled it. I wore it for three days straight and woke up excited each morning to spray it. It's hard to put into words how good it smells, but if you love gourmands with depth and a unique element, you’ll love Jasmine Absolute as much as I do.” — Annie
Best Woody Carolina Herrera Perfume
As a young child, summer was my favorite season for the sole fact that it contained a months-long break from school. But as an adult autumn has become my preferred season because of the definitively cozy vibe of the cooler months—an ambiance that, for me, is best enhanced by warm, woody scents. I’m constantly looking for fragrances that elevate my experience of the comfy season, and Cedar Chic does just that. The name suggests this is a straight-up woody scent, but this fragrance has so much more character. The perfume opens up with notes of bergamot before drying down to reveal orange blossom, and finally, three cedarwood extracts and soft white musks. The result is a light, clean-smelling fragrance with a lingering warmth that evokes the same feeling as being wrapped in a huge blanket that just came out of the laundry.
Review: “I could see myself wearing this fragrance everyday. The name is slightly misleading, but in the best way! It’s not a straightforward woody fragrance. Rather, it comes off as a clean, linen scent, with woody and musky undertones that just make it smell so intimate” — Annie
The Best Dark Floral Carolina Herrera Perfume
As a ride-or-die gourmand lover, I’ve never quite taken to florals—I find the botanical category too sharp and grassy. It’s fairly rare that I find a floral perfume that I immediately love but Good Girl Blush is at the top of that short list. The reason I probably love it so much is that there is a vanilla note snuck in there at the base. It perfectly balances out the crisp notes of bergamot, ylang-ylang, and peony, leaving behind a powdery trail that’s nearly addictive.
Review: “The first time I smelled this I thought to myself ‘now that’s how you do a floral’. The powdery finish makes this a feminine scent that smells especially lovely after taking a shower and throwing on your most frilly lingerie.” — Annie
Best Fruity Carolina Herrera Perfume
Fruity is another category I struggle to get behind—likely because the only fruit I can really tolerate are apples. La Bomba Intense however, is moodier than most fruity perfumes I’ve smelled. Unlike the bright, bubbly personality of many berry-forward perfumes, this scent doesn’t shout juicy; it whispers it. Wild berries undoubtedly lead the parade of notes, but creamy orchid and red amber follow close behind creating a medley that smells less like the inside of a tween clothing store and more like an indulgent, slightly tart dessert—like a bowl of succulent berries with a dollop of cream on top.
Review: “This is your classic girly perfume, but all grown up. It just smells good, in an uncomplicated way, and will likely get you compliments every time you wear it. Not to mention the gorgeous butterfly bottle makes spraying it feel like a special occasion.” — Annie
The Best Carolina Herrera Cologne
Bad Boy is one Carolina Herrera’s three collections for men. Bad Boy Cobalt’s lightning bolt-shaped bottle makes a statement before you even smell the cologne. The liquid inside carries on that conversation as notes of pink pepper and lavender introduce themselves, followed by geranium and earthy vetiver, which give it a masculine edge. It’s not deep enough to register as a nighttime scent but feels more at home during the day, say at brunch or on a casual city stroll where you never know who you’ll run into.
Review: “I gave this to my husband to wear after determining that I’d find it absolutely intoxicating on him—and I was right. He notes that it immediately impressed him and smelled ‘refreshing’ even for hours after spraying it.” — Annie
The Classic Best Carolina Herrera Perfume
She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she’s earned her place as one of Carolina Herrera’s best scents. Good Girl is the foundation of many other perfumes in the collection, but don’t consider it the basic original. Though a handful of scents have come after, the original Good Girl—a floral fragrance with amber undertones—is still worth going back to time and time again. Roasted tonka bean and cocoa give this perfume sensual depth that lasts on the skin for hours, and bright jasmine makes the scent undeniably feminine.
Review: “This is an oldie but goodie in my collection. It’s a sexy fragrance that I usually pull out for date night or any occasion where I want to be noticed.” — Annie
