Hair How-To: Messy Side Bun with a Twist
'Oh, the tangled web we weave.'
We're always looking for a new way to craft our second-day hair. Hairstylist Kat Zemtsova luckily came to our rescue with a chic, side bun that works well for the office, but is romantic enough for drinks with that cutie from Tinder.
This tutorial works best with second-day hair.
Step 1. Start with hair down and create a slightly messy, deep side part.
Step 2. Then, take the heavier side of hair front and loosely twist it back. Secure with a bobby pin.
Step 3. Next, separate your hair into two sections, taking one section (not the side you just pinned) and twisting it.
Step 4. Then, pull the twisted section back and up. As you pin into place, ensure that the ends are pointed down towards your neck. You'll want to leave the very ends sticking out, but secure them about 1-2 inches up (or at the base of your head).
Step 5. Now, take the other section of hair and twist.
