Fake eyelashes are a tried-and-true beauty hack when mascara just isn't enough. But when false lashes aren't applied properly, they can look misshapen, messy, or fall off halfway through the night. (Not cute.) Try these tips to make natural looking fake eyelashes a standard part of your beauty repertoire.
1. Measure and trim
First, to get an idea of the final result, simply place the fake lashes on top of your own. Don't be afraid to trim them if you think they're too long.
2. Apply glue
Apply a thin line of eyelash glue to the base end of the fake lashes, with a little more on the edges since that's where they're more likely to come loose. Blow on the glue for a few seconds before you apply to ensure a better hold.
3. Place lash
Starting from the inner corner, place the lashes as close to your own lash line as possible.
4. Tap into position
While waiting for the glue to dry, gently tap the lashes with the end of a brush for perfect position. Do your best not to blink so that the glue dries correctly!
5. Blend with makeup
Round off the look with eyeliner to blur the line where fake meets real. Apply mascara to achieve the most natural look possible.
Fake it 'til you make it - or until your eyelashes can naturally live up to the high bar set by falsies. *Sigh*
