Here's Why Korean Eyeliners Are Literally the Best in the World

Bad weather = best products.

Design by Dana Tepper

After enlightening us on the power of hair essences, Soko Glam's Charlotte Cho let us in on *another* life-changing beauty secret: K-beauty liners are the longest lasting ones out there, and they have to brave all kinds of weather conditions to prove it.

"Korea is a peninsula, so three sides of the country are covered in water," she explains. "That means the conditions in the summer are very humid and because of the monsoon climate, it rains for about a month in July. And the winters are really, really cold and snowy. Because of this, the eyeliner formulations in Korea are very, very long-lasting because you'll get raccoon eyes if they're not."

The way we see it, if an eyeliner can hold its own during monsoon season, it'll be just the trick for the melty, humid days of summer and beyond.

From liquid pens to gel liners to a hybrid of the two, here are our five K-beauty favorites.
