The Adidas Sneakers an Editor Is Taking With Her Into the New Year

This time of year often inspires a closet purge—the need to start the New Year on an organized or well-curated foot. I can count on one hand the categories that historically have avoided the donation pile, and my Adidas sneaker collection is one of them. My daily step count is impressive (humble brag), so I require footwear that can withstand wear and tear while remaining stylish. For me, Adidas checks those boxes.

I've acquired numerous pairs throughout the years, and there are five key styles I'll be living in come 2026: the OG Samba for its ability to go with nearly every ensemble; the Japan for its lightweight feel and bold colorway; the Tokyo for a retro vibe that makes me feel like one of the cool Gen Z kids who hang out on the Lower East Side; the Gazelle for its on-trend suede texture; and lastly, the SL 72, which looks just as cute with my Pilates set as it does with my office suit.
