With my tiny Brooklyn closest already at capacity, there’s not really room for me to add much of anything new. Unfortunately, the minute I began to peruse Nordstrom, I found myself thinking about how cute certain finds would look on me.
Curious as to exactly what it is that caught my eye? Well, if you read on, you’ll find the five items that I now have patiently waiting for me in my cart. The good news is that setting them aside is not an entirely selfish endeavor; I actually see them as being the kind of gifts that could turn into a "one for her, one for me" kind of situation. There’s a pair of Vince Camuto flats that, while neutral, are anything but boring; a handbag that’s casual but made to stand out; and even a pair of jeans that may convince me to go on a Wild West vacation.
If any of this sounds intriguing, then you too are welcome to join me in finding a little bit of room for these in your own closet (or perhaps gifting them). Beyond my own five must-haves, I’ve also included a few additional shopping options that I’m considering for family and friends.
Free People Marilyn Sweater

Statement sleeves are an easy way to make your outfit stand out during winter. While they're festive and celebratory all on their own, you can show them off under a coat for a cold-weather style upgrade.
COS Quilted Shoulder Bag
This viral bag has sold out multiple times, and I can see why. The unique puffy look is playful and winter appropriate.
Levi's 501 Chap Jeans
The minute I saw these jeans, I knew I had to have a pair. They're inspired by the look of chaps, the leather leg coverings used by cowboys. While I'm not planning on doing any horseback riding, I love the Western touch.
Vince Camuto Mary Janes
I've been debating investing in a pair of Mary Jane flats, but I've finally found the pair that's convinced me to get on board. This pair, made with woven leather, stands out from the sleeker designs.
Rails Kaya Dress
To me, a great LBD is one that's sleek but still has a standout detail that makes it feel special. I can imagine the oversize fringe at the bottom of this dress twisting around me as I tear it up on the dance floor.
Shop More From Nordstrom
A loose-knit sweater is great for throwing on when I'm on vacation.
These aren't your average jeans; they're made to stand out.
A green striped button-down is a subtle twist on a classic.
These sandals are comfortable for casual weekend walks, but oversize buckles make them feel subtly dressy.
Get the look of a tennis bracelet at a more affordable price point.
I'm all for embracing a funky croc-print boot for winter.
This pleated top is comfortable enough that you'll never want to take it off.
When the occasion calls for it, go for a killer heel.
Celebrate a special occasion in a little bit of sparkle.
Wear this short-sleeve cardigan solo or layer over a white tank.
Yes, they're meant for yoga, but these pants look great dressed up too.
