What an incredible moment we’re living in for denim. For the first time in a long while, there isn’t just one style dominating the conversation. Instead, it’s a beautifully mixed assortment: baggy, low-rise, relaxed, bootcut, wide-leg, vintage, colored denim—and the list goes on. Somehow, every single one of these categories feels relevant this spring.
There’s freedom in this sense of variety. Denim has returned to what it was always meant to be—a perennial staple. Nowadays, it’s less about trendy silhouettes, and more about timeless designs that can seamlessly cycle through any capsule wardrobe.
However, denim is only half the story here. After all, there’s no such thing as a great pair of jeans without a perfect tee to match. From long-sleeve T-shirts to short-sleeve options, a classic tee is the quiet partner in this equation.
So, I went down a bit of an internet rabbit hole and scoured the corners of the web for the perfect jeans—and T-shirts—worth wearing.
Baggy Denim
Let me start by boasting a little about the new collaboration between Frame and Amelia Gray—it's seriously good. I first spotted “The Grey,” a low-rise flare that feels instantly cool. But then I came across “The Detour,” which completely won me over. The cut has a subtle nod to a drop crotch, giving it that relaxed, roomy shape that somehow works with everything. It looks just as good with a flat during the day as it does with a heel at night.
I paired the look with a long-sleeve tee from Still Here. And when it comes to this top, I mean it when I say, “don’t walk, run.” It’s offered in five colors and hits that sweet spot of what you want in a long-sleeve—thumb holes (a personal favorite), a lightweight construction, and just the right length to wear on its own or layer under anything.
Brown Denim
I’ve also been leaning into colored denim lately—specifically chocolate brown, which moves beyond traditional blue, but still carries the same ease.
These brown pants from The Row are a perfect example. They have that denim sensibility, but the delectable color makes them feel slightly more elevated. Plus, they’re incredibly versatile—you can wear them dressed up, or completely relaxed. They’re the kind of piece that quietly adapts to whatever the day calls for.
I styled them again with my Still Here long-sleeve tee and layered a lightweight cashmere sweater over the top. It’s a simple formula that always works.
Low-Rise Denim
I’ll admit it, I’m an outfit repeater with this formula.
My Jenni Kayne trench paired with the Jeanerica low-rise denim has become one of those combinations I reach for time and again. The newest addition to the mix is the Leset Nando slim-fit tee, which has quickly earned a permanent place in my wardrobe. I also own the same style in brown, and it’s one of those pieces that just works.
I’ve always loved a strong classic look that holds up over time, something you can wear on repeat without it ever feeling tired.
While these jeans are technically low-rise, don’t let that scare you. The subtle flare through the leg balances the silhouette beautifully, giving them an easy, flattering shape. I’m especially drawn to them in a darker wash—it keeps the whole look feeling timeless.
Relaxed Denim
I felt genuinely honored to get my hands on the launch of Clyque denim. If you know the brand, you’re aware that they’ve already carved out a real space with their relaxed Tommy pants and their perfectly cut T-shirts—both wardrobe essentials for me.
These jeans are everything you want from relaxed denim. They fit perfectly in all the right places and give you that generous width exactly where you want it. They sit just right on the hips with a wide leg that feels modern but still effortless.
I styled them with the Leset Nando fitted tee and an oversized Nour Hammour jacket. I actually went up a size in the jacket to push the oversized look even further, which creates a really nice balance with the relaxed denim underneath.
There are a few other pairs currently on rotation in my wardrobe that deserve a mention. Ossou makes some of the best relaxed denim I’ve found lately—I love their sand-colored pair, which also comes in white. It’s that perfect soft neutral that works with almost everything. I like wearing them with the Flore Flore Olivia long-sleeve tee, which is incredibly soft but still structured enough to feel polished.
Then, there’s the Joan denim from Nili Lotan, a pair that always feels right when you want something classic with a bit of attitude. Still Here’s Everyday denim remains a favorite for its effortless shape. And of course, there's the Amelia Gray collaboration with Frame—particularly “The Grey,” another low-rise flare that feels very of the moment.
With all that said, I encourage you to try something new. Test out different silhouettes, washes, rises, and see what actually works for your wardrobe and your life. When you find the right denim style, there’s always room for more than one pair.
