When I first heard whispers of the fringe trend going viral this season, I was a bit skeptical. I wasn’t convinced that someone like me—a pared-down dresser partial toward clean lines and neutral shades—could fall for frilly pieces of fabric. That is, until I caught a glimpse of the Spring 2026 runways, where designers demonstrated how to wear the style in subtler ways.
Acne Studios embraced fringe with a small black shoulder bag adorned with lengthy tassels. Teamed with a sage-colored blazer and a matching pencil skirt, the bohemian purse championed a corporate attitude. Diotima, on the other hand, took a more playful approach. Designer Rachel Scott paired a strapless feathered top with tailored trousers, grounding the look in a cream-and-white color palette to maintain simplicity. Perhaps my favorite look, though, emerged at Chanel. There, Matthieu Blazy presented a textured set anchored in the label’s new high-vamp pumps (which It girls are currently scrambling to get their hands on).
Intrigued by these looks, I’ve curated a list of runway-inspired fringed outfits that are guaranteed to round out my warm-weather wardrobe this season. From crochet co-ords made for shoreside moments to nine-to-five uniforms for days in the office, these outfits will rise to any occasion.
A Black and White Situation
Chanel Spring 2026 Couture.
What’s Chanel’s secret to making fringe look classy? Keep the color palette neutral.
For the Parisian label’s Spring 2026 Couture show, Blazy revealed this polished black-and-white look that will no doubt land a spot on every minimalist’s mood board. Follow Blazy's lead and complete the outfit with a pair of matching two-tone heels.
Boho Chic
Michael Kors Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
Have you heard the latest fashion news? Boho is back—and it has been for quite some time. For the past few seasons, the ‘70s-inspired aesthetic has dominated glitzy catwalks, and its resurgence shows no signs of slowing down.
Michael Kors put a contemporary twist on the retro look with a gorgeous chestnut brown dress, embellished with tasseled accessories.
A Hint of Whimsy
Diotima Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
The best way to make a neutral outfit feel more whimsical is by experimenting with texture. Diotima’s Rachel Scott did just that with this unique fringed-and-feathered blouse. To allow the top to do the talking, Scott finished off the rest of the look with simple slacks and heels.
She Means Business
Acne Studios Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
I think I just found my new favorite spring work uniform, thanks to Acne Studios. The brand showcased a suit set coated in sage green, which just so happens to be one of spring’s most viral color trends. The fringed black bag seamlessly takes this look from day to night, making it an ideal desk-to-drinks outfit.
Opposing Elements
Alaïa Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
Composed of two contrasting vibes, this Alaïa outfit embodies the phrase “business on top, party on the bottom.” The sharp blazer conveys a sophisticated message, while the fringed situation down below is much more high-spirited. Recreate this look with the pieces ahead and expect endless compliments.
By the Sea
Balmain Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
One glimpse at Balmain’s crochet set, and I’m already dreaming about basking in the sun on a white sandy beach. Can’t you just hear the sound of waves crashing in the distance? I can!
I plan to incorporate a woven set into my coastal wardrobe ASAP—and I’ll also make sure to add a beaded bag and seashell jewelry to the mix.
Frill Frenzy
Channel Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear.
During Channel’s Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear show, Blazy absolutely ate and left no crumbs. This matchy-matchy outfit ranks high on my wish list. I love how the flouncy hemlines instantly elevate the entire look.
While I couldn't find the exact set online, below you’ll see a similar Simon Miller dress trimmed in tassels. Snag it before it’s too late, and feel free to thank me later.
