1. STILETTOS
People who wear casual shoes burn more calories in a day than people who dress up, according to a recent study by the American Council on Exercise. Wearing comfortable shoes daily could burn an extra 6500 calories a year, thanks to the extra walking you'll do, says study author Katie Zahour, M.S., a clinical exercise psychologist at the Southwest Florida Heart Group.

2. YOUR GUY'S EDUCATION
A Polish study found that women who "married up"-meaning that their husbands had more schooling than they did-tended to be leaner than women who married guys who weren't as academically accomplished. So if you finished graduate school but he didn't, you might end up needing to apply some of your brainpower to calorie counting.

3. BOREDOM
A survey by the Priory Group in the U.K. found that more people ate when bored than when stressed. So tight clothes might mean that you need a hobby, not just a yoga class.
