The impression I'd had about aqua, aerobic classes, and their underwater peers was that they catered primarily to seniors and injured athletes. This is because they're generally touted as low-impact alternatives to other exercises. And, while this is true, having one's limbs submerged also adds constant resistance to your workout.
On the whole, it's possible that a watery workout will both minimize the impact on your joints and actually increase its intensity. To compensate, the playlist I've put together is a couple beats per minute slower than usual. But don't let the pool or pace fool you into thinking it'll make for a lighter routine.
