He Said WHAT?!

Mansplaining: a tiresome event that becomes infinitely more infuriating when combined with a not-so-subtle appearance-oriented put down.

Such was the case when Republican Rep. Todd Rokita appeared on anchor Carol Costello's Thursday CNN show and not only mansplained the government shutdown to a seasoned broadcast journalist, but went so far as to bring her looks into it for absolutely no good reason.

After a heated conversation seemed to come to a head, Rokita said, "Carol, you're beautiful but you need to be honest." Costello paused and said, "I think we're going to end it here."

Politico reported that Rokita's office issued a statement after the confrontation addressing his comments to the CNN anchor. "I intended no offense to Ms. Costello," the statement read. Right. Sure he didn't.
