All eyes were on the Gucci Cruise 2018 show in Florence yesterday, with every detail shared on Instagram. The most striking? The models' hands gloved in Gucci jewelry with black painted fingertips.
Renowned nail artist Jenny Longworth was behind the "dipped ink nail look," which extended down the fingers. In addition, jewelry fusing gold GG hardware and pearls lent the gothic vibe some glamour.
While it's not your average catwalk manicure, it isn't the first time "dip-dyed" nails have trended. First spotted way back at Mara Hoffman's Fall 2012 show, singer Lorde then sported the look at the 2014 Grammy Awards. But juxtaposed with jewelry, the Gucci version takes it into grownup territory.
If you want inspiration for a more office-friendly way to wear fashion-forward fingertips, look no further than Gucci's new fragrance campaign. The brand rekindled our romance with nail art via this look on artist Petra Collins.
Either way, statement manicures are back—and we're not about to argue.
