Serayah, actress, singer, and model, is best known for her major role in Fox's hit show Empire, which debuted in 2015. Besides the show, the multihypenate is up to other major things. She just released her new single "Never Be The Same" Feat. SIMYAI, and have you caught her looking absolutely fire in Chris Brown's "Undecided" music video? She recently sat down with us to face mask 'n chill while wearing Gleamin's Vitamin C Clay Mask ($40) Two words: Serayah's skin. You've got to see her glow post-masking (I've already added her mask to my cart).
Surprisingly, her glowy skincare routine is super simple. She starts with Skin Better Science Even Tone Correcting Serum ($140), followed by their Trio Rebalancing Moisture Treatment ($135) and she never forgets EltaMD's SPF 46 ($30) for this very important reason: "Growing up being African American, it's a very huge myth that if you have colored skin you don't need SPF as much as anyone else. You definitely do need to protect the layers of your skin at all times no matter what color you are," she says in the video.
As far as her masking music, she prefers to listen to soothing jazz music, Sade, or Anita Baker—and honestly, same. That's a soundtrack everyone can get behind. If you're slightly stir crazy and looking for some inspo, she gets creative in the kitchen and DIYs her own masks using honey, lemon, and baking soda, a recipe passed down from her mom. "Baking soda is amazing for exfoliating your skin," she mentions, adding to use it gently on the skin. " You have to watch the entire video to see her glowy skin results for yourself. "My skin feels like it got a breath of fresh air," she says after removing her mask revealing a significantly brighter complexion.
