We're living in the decade of big, thick, statement brows. Need proof? Just look at literally any Hollywood celebrity (hi, Zendaya), or any recent beauty trend (ahem, microblading), or even Meghan Markle's favorite product (whatup, Revitalash growth serum). Brows, brows, brows.
And though giant brows are all well and good, the craze is less fun for those born with a skimpy set, or, equally confounding, a Groucho Marx set. Then, dear reader, you're left with two options: 1. Accept life as it is, or 2. experiment with a really good eyebrow kit. Though I highly recommend #1 (self-love, bb!), I'm also down with #2, which is why I handpicked the very best eyebrow pencils, creams, shadows, and waxes for all of your eyebrow needs. Check them out, ahead, and may you live out the rest of this bold brow era in bliss.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Brow Kit, $40
There’s a big chance at least half of your friends already own this cult-favorite brow kit, and for good reason: The mirrored palette has literally everything you could need. It comes with five differently shaped brow stencils, an angled brow brush, two shades of brow powders, two highlighting powders, and a creamy brow wax.
Just place one of the stencils over your brows and fill in the gaps with powder, drawing tiny, hair-like lines, rather than shading back and forth. Brush on the clear wax for shine and hold, and tap a highlight powder across your brow bones to finish.
Benefit Brow Tryouts! Mini Eyebrow Set, $24
If the thought of mastering waxes, powders, and little brow brushes makes you feel totally inept, then try this set of mini brow pencils, which requires exactly zero expertise.
Shade in your brows with the thick, angled-tip pencil, then use the fine-tip pencil to draw itty-bitty lines throughout your brows to define them. Finally, keep ‘em in place (and add a bit of natural-looking shine) by brushing through them with the setting gel. Trust me—it’s easier than it sounds.
CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow Kit, $6
Although creams and pencils will give your brows the most defined, precise look (which is especially helpful if you have sparse brows to begin with), you can also get a lighter, more natural (and, frankly, faster) finish by using a combo of powders.
Enter: this three-shade kit, which includes a darker brown to fill in your brows, a medium brown to shape and add depth to your brows, and an iridescent champagne to define and highlight your brow bones. And, bonus, it includes a double-ended brush, with both angled and fluffy tips, along with clear illustrations on what to use where.
Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel, $24
If you’ve never even attempted to fill in your brows, then let’s start you off with the most basic of products: this chubby brow pencil. The dual-sided tool has an angled, waterproof pencil on one end, and a clear, semi-matte gel on the other side. Fill in your brows by drawing short, upwards strokes along your eyebrows with the pencil, before brushing through them with the clear gel. Really, it’s that simple.
Too Faced Brow Envy Kit, $39
If you want giant brows—I’m talkin’ Cara Delevingne–level thickness—then please invest in this majorly stacked brow kit. The metal tin houses an angled brush and brow comb, a very necessary pair of tweezers, three brow stencils, a sheer highlighting cream to blend along your brow bone, two brow powders (in a taupe-y “blonde” and a chestnut “brunette”), and a clear setting wax to lock it all in place. Sound overwhelming? Don’t worry; the kit also includes instructions and tips, so you really can’t mess it up.
