Demi Lovato's mother Dianna De La Garza is opening up about her past. MarieClaire.com can exclusively reveal that the public speaker will publish her debut memoir Falling with Wings: A Mother's Story this March—with a forward from (who else?) Demi herself. The book will focus on De La Garza's family life—much of which has taken place in the spotlight of Hollywood—and will also detail De La Garza's struggle with alcohol and pill addiction.
Falling with Wings certainly deals with a lot of tough subjects (the book also chronicles De La Garza's eating disorder, body image issues, and "obsession with being perfect"), but also includes major highlights in the author's life—including raising her daughters, and watching Demi (as well as her other children) navigate fame, success, and stardom.
“I’m elated at the opportunity to share my story with the world,” De La Garza says of the memoir. “It’s been a life-long dream of mine to publish a book, and I couldn’t be happier. I hope its message helps readers persevere and remain hopeful, even in the face of adversity.”
Falling with Wings: A Mother's Story is out on March 6, 2018, from Macmillan imprint Feiwel and Friends.
