2013 Emmy Nominations: Ladies to Love!

This morning marked the very beginning of one of our favorite times of the year: awards season! While we're still months away from the hustle and bustle of the build-up to the Oscars, today's Emmy nominations give us plenty of reasons to be excited. While you can check out the full list of noms, here, we're already gushing over all the fabulous female nominees. From a whooping seven in lead actress drama to six in comedy, there's a lot to love in female TV stars this September.

This category is chock-full of favorites, including the stars of two of our favorite new shows, Kerry Washington as political wonderwoman Olivia Pope on Scandal and Connie Britton as the country-crooning Rayna James on Nashville. Not to mention, we saw a repeat of some of our longtime Emmy favorites: last year's winner Claire Danes of Homeland, Elisabeth Moss of Mad Men, and Michelle Dockery of Downton Abbey.

And don't even get us started! With our favorites being Brooklynite, Lena Dunham of Girls, the non-stop hilarity of Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Veep, and of course, Tina Fey's Liz Lemon in her last-ever season of 30 Rock, we're finding it impossible to pick a flat-out favorite. This year's stellar crop of nominees is making us even more impatient for September.

Which nominees are you gunning for to win the big prize?
