'Yellowstone' Star Kelsey Asbille Is all About Binge-Watching TV and Ordering Takeout
Same.
Kelsey Asbille, star of Paramount Network's new drama Yellowstone, takes care of herself with homework, road trips, and takeout orders.
AGE: 26.
LIVES IN: New York City.
YOU KNOW HER FROM: MTV’s Teen Wolf (2016), Wind River (2017).
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR DOWNTIME? I love seeing old film classics in a movie theater. The last one I saw was Ball of Fire with Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper. You can learn so much in Stanwyck’s performance, and sitting in a theater takes you away from the stresses of the world. Plus, there’s popcorn and Raisinets.
SKILL YOU’RE WORKING ON TO GET BETTER AT? I’m studying human rights—my focus is on indigenous rights—at Columbia University in New York. I’m the old kid in class in a room full of 18-year-olds.
COOLEST TRIP YOU’VE EVER TAKEN? It started in Hamilton, Montana, where we filmed Yellowstone. Some of the set’s crew members and I drove seven hours to the Crow Reservation last August for the 99th annual Crow Fair Celebration Powwow and Rodeo. It was so cool—the parade with all the traditional regalia, the rodeo and the cowgirls barrel racing, the eating. And I met Janine Pease, who is an incredible woman. She’s a MacArthur Fellowship recipient and founding president of Little Big Horn College.

FAVORITE PIECE OF ART IN YOUR HOME? A beautiful, peaceful black-and-white photograph of the full moon over Half Dome in Yosemite, by Ansel Adams, which hangs in my bedroom. It was a birthday gift from my boyfriend [William Moseley].
HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR CHILL? I love binge-watching TV. Recently, I’ve binge-watched Stranger Things on Netflix. I also binge-watch E!’s The Royals. My boyfriend is on it. Oh, and I always go back to The Office in stressful times.
GO-TO MEAL TO COOK AT HOME? I am a terrible cook. I order takeout. Chinese food is my go-to.
