Instagram Just Announced Another Major Update That'll Make Your Stories So Much Better
♫ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Snapchat ♫
Less than a week after Instagram added the brilliant new bookmarking feature, they're rolling out another round of updates that will make your Stories so. much. better.
Starting today you'll notice these five new tools pop up in your Instagram Stories:
Now you can add stickers—including weather, time and location—to your Stories. To access these stickers, simply select the smiley-face icon at the top right of your camera screen after you take your photo or video. What's even better is that if you tap on the sticker you can select from multiple styles to change the look.
For a limited time, Instagram is also adding a few holiday-themed stickers to this new feature, including snowmen, ugly sweaters, and some mistletoe. There's even a candy cane brush to make your Stories *extra* festive.
If you've ever tried to record a video of yourself in Stories, you know it isn't easy having to hold down the record button the entire time. Starting today, there will be a "hands-free" mode so you can just press record and go. To stop recording, just hit it again when you're done. You'll find this new feature if you scroll right from "Boomerang" at the bottom of the Stories menu.
You can also (finally) add multiple fields of text to your Stories!
Before today you were only able to save photos or videos from your Story individually, but now you can save it as one comprehensive video—like in Snapchat. Just tap the "save" icon in the viewing sheet of your story in the upper right-hand corner.
