A man near Leon, Central Mexico, has been accused of murdering a woman he met on Tinder then dissolving her body with acid after she refused to have sex with him.
Emmanuel Delani Valdez Bocanegra, 26, was arrested after the family of Francia Ruth Ibarra, 26, reported her missing in early December. The Daily Mail reports that the victim's clothes were discovered in Bocanegra's home this week, along with "six kilos of human flesh" and bones in garbage bags on his balcony next to containers of caustic soda and hydrochloric acid. The source adds that Bocanegra allegedly "dissolved [Ibarra's] body to make it look like she had run away."
Police were able to identify the victim based on DNA from these remains.
Ibarra was first reported missing on Dec. 3 after failing to meet a friend at the movies. Worried for her safety, a group of her friends then searched through her social media, where they discovered she had been seeing Bocanegra for several months, despite never introducing him to her friends or family.
NY Daily News reports that the suspect was a former student at the school Ibarra was attending before her death. Police were able to track him down in Mexico City, where he was "indifferent" to his arrest.
