Looking to find a way to fit charitable work into your busy schedule? It's as simple as placing one foot in front of the other.
We're inviting all New York City residents to enjoy the spring season and walk it out as we pair up with Birkenstock for the first-ever "Walk to Work Day" on June 9, 2010. The event will benefit Sole4Souls, a nonprofit group aiming to provide footwear for the 300-million-plus children and adults in the world without shoes.
If that's not motivation enough, the first 200 participants to fund-raise over $500 for the cause will receive a free pair of Birkenstocks so they can walk to work in comfort and style. Simply visit soles4soulsfundraising.org/marieclaire to start your own fund-raising page. Try challenging other offices and make sure to spread the word to colleagues, friends, and family. We have no doubt that by June 9th, you'll have a little extra spring in your step!
