The term "supermodel" rose in popularity in the '80s and '90s, giving us icons like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Naomi Campbell. Today, "supermodel" describes the rare breed of model who has achieved worldwide success and becomes a personality outside of the modeling world.
