This morning, a piece of news that will rock the fashion world was released: Nicolas Ghesquière, who has served as the creative director of Balenciaga since 1997, is leaving his post at the French label. Fans of the fashion house love Ghesquière for his directional and innovative designs, which consistently set trends and influence others' collections.
One of the designer's most recent muses is Kristen Stewart—the face of Balenciaga's new Florabotanica fragrance—who shows her loyalty to the label by frequently sporting it on the red carpet. Over the weekend at the AFI Festival, Stewart wore a tailored two-piece Balenciaga look to the premiere of her new film On the Road, and it's getting a ton of attention. A crop top is always a risky red carpet choice, but this structured peek-a-boo top paired with high-waisted trousers and classic Christian Louboutin pumps is something we can get behind. The Twilight star always wears Ghesquière's designs well, and we hope she continues to show him support after he officially steps down from Balenciaga at the end of the month.
