Last night's MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn were memorable, to say the least. Lady Gaga performed wearing a white foam box! *NSYNC reunited for a whole two minutes! Taylor Swift told One Direction to "shut the f*ck up!" Miley Cyrus… did whatever it was that she did, we're still unclear on that one. Although the show as a whole felt a bit thrown together, there were some standout red carpet moments that made us breathe a sigh of relief. Read on for our favorite looks of the night — sorry to disappoint you, but Miley's team of twerking Furries and Katy Perry's grill didn't make the cut.
Shailene Woodley showed off her new short hair and enviable abs in this Emilio Pucci two-piece.
"Best Pop Video" winner Selena Gomez might not know how to pronounce Atelier Versace, but she sure knows how to work it.
If her audience reaction shots are any indication, Taylor Swift was having the time of her life last night. Maybe it's because she looked so damn hot in this Herve Leger by Max Azria gown, or because she got the chance to slam Harry Styles during her speech for her "Best Female Video" win.
Ellie Goulding looked gorgeous in this spiked gown.
Rita Ora had one of the most dramatic looks of the evening, a Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown with a feathered train.
Shocker: House of Style host Joan Smalls looked really, really good last night. We loved her structural look by Viktor and Rolf.

It wasn't the most exciting ensemble in the room, but Girls star Allison Williams looked lovely in this Valentino minidress.
