Here’s My Secret to a Simple Holiday Outfit Rotation
Don't overthink it.
It’s easy to get lost in the idea that the holiday season demands an elaborate wardrobe. But truth be told, it doesn’t. In fact, I’ve learned how to streamline my festive outfit formulas with tonal styling, elevated accessories, sharp silhouettes, and rich fabrics. Rooted in simplicity, my holiday looks are totally approachable—and I’m going to show you exactly how to style them.
My advice? Don’t overthink it. Or, as I also like to say, don’t over-Fink it.
Strong Suiting
Here, I leaned into strong silhouettes with a two-piece suit and carrot-shaped pants. For a subtle nod to unisex tailoring, I paired this set with a crisp white button-up shirt. However, if you’d prefer a look that’s a bit sexier, I’d recommend wearing this suit without a top.
To elevate the ensemble, I added a Rabanne’s Nano bag—the mini version is my favorite—along with Completedworks diamond earrings and my patent leather Christian Louboutin heels. These accessories are intentional and just the right amount of fancy.
Wear this polished outfit to a holiday party with co-workers or friends, and prepare to receive endless compliments.
Shearling Layers
This outfit delivers a dose of drama with a bold shearling coat. I chose this layer because it doesn’t feel too on the nose—it’s holiday-esque, but also wearable beyond the festive season. I kept the look simple and soft by coordinating the coat with a long-sleeve cashmere sweater and a wool skirt.
To infuse the cream color palette with a hint of contrast, I added brown tights, black shoes, and a black bag.
While the coat itself is a head-turner, this look can hold its own without the extra layer. The thoughtful separates underneath keep everything chic, balanced, and perfectly dressed up.
Festive Fabrics
For my final look, I wanted to play with festive fabrics. The sheer top is made of organza, and it boasts a sculptural softness. The barrel bottoms, however, are cut from taffeta. What I love most about these pants is that they’re decorated with a subtle bow detail that’s playful yet refined.
I finished the outfit with my favorite chocolate brown satin bag, pointy patent pumps, and an elevated collar necklace. Overall, this look balances casual ease with the perfect amount of polish.
Holiday dressing doesn’t need to be complicated. It’s about choosing pieces that make you feel grounded, confident, and special—without losing yourself in the noise. When you focus on straightforward silhouettes, textures, and colors, it becomes less about spectacle and more about personal style.
