MTV Resurrects "Total Request Live" Especially for Ariana Grande

Six years after MTV canceled its classic Total Request Live, the network has seen the error of its ways and decided to bring the show back! Sadly, it's just a one-off, and also sadly, there'll probably be no Carson Daly — a host has yet to be confirmed. The one-night-only special, airing next week (via The Associated Press), will in fact be all about Ariana Grande, so perhaps she'll host; the show will even be called Total Ariana Live. That's perhaps a little much, but oh well.

During the show, Ariana will perform her latest single, "Break Free," and talk about her future music plans. Given that it's a half-hour-long broadcast and that such topics would sync nicely with all the supernatural/sci-fi content rumored to appear in the "Break Free" music video, she might also talk about ghosts, demons, and/or other crazy shit, just to fill time. Who knows! That's the magic of "live" TV for you.
