Sound the bugles! We are now in the presence of a royal tweet.

Queen Elizabeth II posted her first tweet to the @BritishMonarchy Twitter account Friday, in honor of an exhibit at London's Science Museum that celebrates the history of communications technology. She signed the post "Elizabeth R."

Then, in a series of posts that we're sure the Queen did not type herself, #TheQueenTweets became a thing.

And it looks like the Queen used a tablet to do the tweeting.

Her son, Prince Andrew, and her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, have her beat with their own personal Twitter accounts. But nobody can beat the Queen herself when it comes to a very modern pastime: photobombing.
