I was so inspired by Lady Gaga's grand entrance into her Good Morning America concert, that I decided I'd give ziplining a try too. Looking to satisfy our thirst for adrenaline, the BF and I trekked out to Hunter Mountain in upstate New York to test out the longest zipline in North America, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
Standing at the top of the platform, all geared up in a fierce helmet and harness for the five step course, I was more than a little intimidated. I wasn't the only one experiencing vertigo — I mean, it was 600 ft off the ground! — a few chickens returned safely down to the base without participating in the challenge. Determined to conquer my fear, I took the plunge and felt great after completing the first line. Turns out, I was practically a pro, until I got stuck on the next line and had to be rescued down.
It wasn't a total loss though — I got a major ab blast thanks to the super compact cannonball position that's mandatory for maintaining speed. This just might be my new favorite workout!
The Juicy Deets: Hunter Mountain is located in the Catskills, two hours north of NYC. Call (518) 263-4388 to book your reservation or visit their site for more info.
