Two months after George Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, 26, has filed for divorce. In an interview last month, Shellie told ABC News that the couple had been living "like gypsies," and that "It got very crazy, living with bodyguards." Shellie added, "It's difficult to communicate with your spouse when you're under so much scrutiny from both sides, and I think we both have been fighting for our own individual struggles to be heard by each other, and that's been difficult."
Shellie filed divorce papers on Thursday, a week after she pleaded guilty to perjury. She was charged with lying during one of her husband's bond hearings last year, telling the judge the couple had no money when instead they had received more than $100,000 in donations.
