Hi. I'm Ning Chao, Senior Beauty Editor at Marie Claire Magazine. And today, I'm here at the Marie Robinson Salon in New York City where I??m going to talk to [unknown] Hairstyle??s Mark Townsend. Today, he's gonna teach us how to turn jewelry into hair accessories.

I give Dani a really simple bi-chignon today. Just braided her hair into 1 side and then looped it back up. And an easy way to dress this up, I love to put flowers in the hair. And these actually have clips on them so it makes the work so simple. Another great trick [unknown] is to find the bobby pin that has an adornment on it. We found these 2 great ones above that little precise details on the back of the hairstyle. A great winner dress up a ponytail, [unknown] Hair Country. It comes with this amazing wire on the back. So, you can literally wrap it around your ponytail. And just to make sure it lasts all night, secure with bobby pins. There's no better and easier way to dress up a simple bun than a headband and I'm obsessed with headbands. This is one that I used for Natalie Portman for the red carpet appearance she had to do. But it comes with this amazing elastic at the back so it fits right under the bun or actually place it right on the hair where you want it to go. Sometimes, it's great to keep it from getting too precious, you can layer on your headbands like it??s a really cool young edgy effect. Using jewelry in the hair is a simple way to dress up any hairstyle but have fun with it. The really modern thing to do is put some of the different brooches in the hair. And I like to find things that don't exactly match to go all together. So, I wanted to use a dragonfly and a feather. And this great thing to do on a bun is put 1 on either side. You just layer them on. Your hair stuff doesn't always have to be centered around a ponytail or a bun. Sometimes, you can go right in the bun. There??s like a brooch that we found and I'm just gonna secure with it a couple of hair pins and it's ready to go.
