A New Way to Commute: Women-Only Trains in India

Getting groped is no way to start the day. But in India, where women often ride the rails for several hours a day while commuting to and from work, it's a common occurrence. Until now. With the country's female workforce on the rise, the Minister of Railways, a woman named Mamata Banerjee, recently rolled out eight new women-only trains--no ass-grabbing guys allowed. The trains, which service New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Calcutta, also have another perk: women vendors who sell everything from earrings to hairpins to frozen yogurt.
