Bella Hadid’s Cannes Manicure Is the Hottest Shade for Summer

Look-a-like polishes are about to be everywhere.

While Cannes Film Festival occasionally throws a crazy hair transformation our way, the 2024 circuit is showcasing resurgence of classic glam. Selena Gomez, who is doing press for Emilia Pérez, has channeled Old Hollywood with red lipstick and Marcel waves. Anya Taylor-Joy opted for a polished updo and cat eye.

Now Bella Hadid—our beauty influencer of the moment—is out to prove that summer’s biggest manicure trend will be a major pivot from seasons past. Rather than neon or even a butter yellow, the Ôrebella founder walked the red carpet with a timeless nude swiped across her nails.

Hadid's mocha hue is sheer, complementing her medium-length, oval nails. Her slightly see-through aesthetic is to be expected: Hadid’s go-to nail artist, Mei Kawajiri, told Marie Claire earlier this year that semi-transparent shades would be a big 2024 trend.

The Kin Euphorics founder didn't limit her Cannes look's mocha moments to just her nails. Her Saint Laurent naked dress, which was styled by Molly Dickson, takes up a similar shade, while her monochromatic makeup also plays in the same color range.

Hadid, who has recently been working with makeup artist Nadia Tayeh, also had a glossy nude swiped across her lips and smokey brown diffused across her lid. The model’s hair was styled with a deep side part (another 2024 trend!) and curled in big, bouncy waves. While I don’t have definitive confirmation, I’m pretty confident Hadid also sprayed some of her just-launched Orebella fragrance before leaving the hotel.

To achieve Hadid's semi-sheer nail look, opt for a translucent hue or simply do extremely thin coats of opaque polish. While fans wait to see what other Cannes beauty looks the model has planned, shop the best mocha nail polishes—and makeup products—ahead.
