Now let us a backtrack for a second. Last fall, Tom Ford unveiled a Drake-inspired lipstick shade as part of his second annual Lips & Boys collection. And naturally, we at MarieClaire.com had to put the pearlescent plum shade to the test. Having gotten very familiar with it, when we spotted Rihanna over Christmas donning a metallic purple pout our hearts stopped. Could it be? Yes, it reads a little more lustrous on Ri than it does in the tube, but let's be real, *literally everything* shines bright like a diamond on her.

But whether it's a RiRi-style, yeah-I-said-it message to her old flame, or mere coincidence, we're definitely eyeing the iridescent shade for our New Year's Eve night beauty look.
