It's never too early for a new Gwen Stefani (opens in new tab)track — even if it is Monday morning. Warding off the Sunday Scaries, Stefani's latest arrived digitally overnight by way of Mad Love/Interscope Records complete with high-octane pop artwork of Stefani clad in mesh and shaggy Cruella De Vil fur. Entitled, "Baby Don't Lie," the song was written by Stefani along with Benny Blanca, OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, and Noel Zancanella, and will appear on her forthcoming solo record.

The throbbing, tropical-tinged reggae-pop number may be about reconciling a relationship tainted with dishonesty: "But there's something behind those eyes / Those eyes / That you can't that you can't disguise / Disguise,", but it's one that's sure to heat up the dance floor all the same. The official video, directed by Sophie Muller and Weirdcore, will hit the web on Tuesday.

Stefani is currently holed up in a recording studio with longtime collaborator Pharrell, putting the finishing touches on the album, her first solo offering since 2006's The Sweet Escape, due out this December. ICYMI: Stefani and Adam Levine's recent wistful ballad "My Heart Is Open," is a must-listen (opens in new tab) ode to love lost.
