Sad news for anyone looking forward to that Little Mermaid remake: Chloë Grace Moretz has dropped out of all her future film projects after realizing she needs to "slow down."
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the Deauville American Film Festival last week, Moretz admitted that her hectic work schedule had caused her to lose sight of why she became an actress.
"I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again," she said. "I'm realizing that I can slow down."
But with an impressive 55 film credits to boast of already, it's no surprise that the 19-year-old wants to take a little time out.
After receiving the Rising Star Award at the French film festival, Moretz revealed she was glad "people have been watching," but that her "'Come to Jesus' moment" led her to take a break nonetheless.
It turns out that the Carrie star will instead turn her focus to producing, as well as to the two TV projects she's reportedly working on.
The actress has also recently wrapped the crime drama November Criminals and thriller Brain on Fire, in which Moretz portrays Susannah Cahalan, an American journalist and author who documented her hospitalization with a rare auto-immune disease.
While Moretz may wish to take a well-deserved step out of the limelight for the moment, she certainly didn't hold back in reigniting her Twitter feud with Kim Kardashian West.
"I think I gave my attention to people that didn't deserve my attention," Moretz said. "So in some ways I think I regret giving them the attention, [though] I don't regret what I said."
