It should come as no surprise that we here at MarieClaire.com think quite highly of Kate Middleton's long, chestnut locks. In fact, we've written multiple tutorials on how our readers can achieve her expert barrel curlsrich color, and natural highlights.

So you can imagine our surprise when we learned this morning that former royal hairdresser Denise McAdam has some differing thoughts on the matter. In an interview with Radio Times magazine picked up by US Weekly, McAdam reportedly said that she thought Middleton's hair "is wonderful, maybe a little overdone at times." She reportedly added, "But she always looks lovely."

Well, we can all agree on the last part—Middleton does always look lovely. But just as we thought it was a bit silly for Queen Elizabeth to request the Duchess of Cambridge undergo a royal makeover, we find it hard to muster up any negative thoughts about her luscious locks. This news comes on the heels of the Duchess of Cornwall (Prince Charles' wife) reportedly telling Middleton that she should chop off her long hair! (Apparently the two were at an event recently and it was very windy and the Duchess of Cornwall reportedly thought the Duchess of Cambridge's hair was all over the place.)

McAdam, who described herself as a "good friend" of Middleton's, said she worked for the royal family for 35 years, and was known for her discretion. She's recently joined a reality TV show about hairstylists and revealed some of her less forgiving thoughts about some other royals to the press. So it looks like she's opening up!
