After many nights spent singing along to Meiko's hit 2007 single, "Boys with Girlfriends," and hearing about her acclaimed showcase at this year's SXSW Music Festival, we couldn't wait to listen to the singer's new track, "Leave the Lights On." Plus, MC's go-to music guru, Sergio Kletnoy, currently has Meiko on his short list of favorite singers. That's why we are so excited to premiere the music video for the song, which explores the complexities of a love affair.
Shot in one continuous take — that means no cuts and no edits — the video is the perfect accompaniment to a set of very relatable lyrics. Of course, Meiko's gorgeous, punchy voice makes it all the better. Now, we're even more eager for the full album, The Bright Side, which drops May 15.
After you watch the video, be sure to check out a behind-the-scenes look at its making!
