Selena Gomez announced she will be taking time off from her career to prioritize wellness following Lupus-related symptoms during her Revival World Tour.
"I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges," the 24 year-old told People. "I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best."
Gomez took a similar break last year, but reported feeling healthy and confident after having a round of chemotherapy to battle the autoimmune disorder.
In addition to her statement, the Marie Claire June 2016 cover star also said she hopes her focus on physical and mental health will encourage others to do the same.
Feel better soon, Sel.
