Andrew Gelwicks Shares His Favorite Books in 'Shelf Portrait'
Andrew Gelwicks shows Marie Claire his bookshelf in the latest episode of 'Shelf Portrait.' Find out his favorite books and order them for yourself here.
Andrew Gelwicks, celebrity stylist and author of The Queer Advantage, cannot get enough of books like The Mailroom and A Little Life, as shown in Marie Claire's latest episode of Shelf Portrait, where celebrities, influencers, and famous bookworms invite us inside their homes to show off their personal libraries.
In the video, Gelwicks takes us through his personal book collection, which includes Broken People by Sam Lansky, one of Gelwicks's favorite authors. In the novel, Gelwicks says Lansky "captures this young man as he's navigating his way through the world who's struggling to love himself and accept himself" and he really connected with the character. Malcolm Gladwell's David and Goliath is another favorite of his. Gelwicks started reading it while he was working on his own book, and it taught him about how to embrace being an underdog.
In his fantasy world, Gelwicks is nestled on his couch reading in cozy pajamas while it's raining. In reality, he's catching up on his reading before bed in his night guard, which, same. Watch Gelwicks's full Shelf Portrait video, above, then order some of his favorite books for yourself, below.
